This Advanced Level 2 course is comprised of 3 units – Upper Extremities, Lower Extremities, and Gut and Brain Health. Each of these units must be completed prior to being certified as a Level 2 Practitioner.

The units can be completed in any order and a certificate will be issued for each on completion.

Who this course is for?

This hands-on course is open to experenced Bodyworkers and qualified Health Care Professionals wishing to broaden their scope of practice and understanding of this highly effective modality, Bioelectric Meridian Therapy (BMT). If you have any medical history, please contact us before signing up for the course.

Prerequisite

This is an intensive hands-on practical learning class. Students who enrol for this course will need a good understanding of human anatomy and basic understanding of meridian pathways.

As an experienced Bodyworker you are eligible to bypass the Level 1 BMT unit. You are however required to have a firm understanding of the fundamental theories taught during that unit. ABMMA has created a Home Study Pack which contains all the required knowledge which must be reviewed and understood before commencing this intensive one and half days practical (in class) course.

You will receive material for Level 1 BMT, videos demonstrating self-care routines, hands techniques and basic lymphatic drainage routines for you to practice at home prior to beginning the practical course.
There will be a quiz on the fundamental theories of BMT which must be completed prior to starting the practical course.
There will be a Q&A session at the beginning of the course to discuss the content of the Home Study Pack.

It is the participants responsibility to ensure that the fundamentals are understood prior to beginning the course, failure to comply may led to the participant being excluded from the one and half days practical course.

Course outcomes

In this one and half days intensive course, you will learn an integrative approach to assessment and treatment of the structural relationship between the spine, pelvic girdle, cranium, meridian lines, acupuncture points and organs using the body’s natural bioelectric energy.

You will gain a thorough understanding and appreciation of the mechanism of your gut microbiome and the importance it plays in your overall health.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Understand the basic function of the organs that make up the digestive system.
Discuss the role and mechanism of the digestive system including important enzymes.
Identify both micro and macro nutrients and the importance of their absorption for optimal health.
Understand the role of the gut microbiome and how it impacts our overall health.
Comprehend the intricate relationship between the gut and the brain, including an understanding of the Vagus nerve.
Recognise the importance of gut microbiome integrity for emotional and mental health.
Comprehend the connection between the gut microbiome and the immune system.
Identify diet, lifestyle and environmental factors which impact the gut microbiome, both adversely and beneficially.
Identify the meridian pathways which influence the gut and brain connection.
Identify in detail the acupuncture points which might affecting the systems.
Identify which of the 5 elements contribute to the dysfunction and suggest appropriate manipulation techniques to improve recovery.
Describe the typical pain patterns of the dysfunction and how they relate to the nerves, muscles, fascia and visceral system.
Demonstrate evaluation methods and treatment techniques to facilitate normal functioning of these systems.
Determine the relationships between multiple sites of non-optimal alignment, biomechanical control and decide where the best place is to intervene. Finding the primary driver/dysfunction.
Identify the relationship between the pelvic girdle and cranium.
Discuss home care therapeutic exercise to restore the functional movements.
