The Bioelectric Massage Therapy (BMT) for Remedial Massage Therapy teaches massage therapists an innovative hands-on therapy using the ABMMA PRO BMT Device in a Remedial Massage setting

Who this course is for

This course is open to qualified health care professionals wishing to broaden their scope of practice and understanding of the highly effective modality of Bioelectric Massage Therapy (BMT). This is a hands-on practical learning class. Students who enrol for this course will need a strong knowledge of human anatomy and soft tissue therapy.

Course outline

In this two-day intensive course, you will learn an integrative approach in the assessment and treatment of pain, injury rehabilitation, muscle fatigue recovery and for the treatment of various musculoskeletal or neuromuscular conditions, including:

  • Muscular dysfunction resulting from low cellular energy & fatigue
  • Pain relief and management
  • Common lower back pain and SIJ dysfunction.
  • Poor muscle tone
  • Elevated muscle tone
  • Fascial densification and adhesions
  • Trigger points and nodules
  • Non-acute injury or trauma
  • Poor posture
  • Stress and more.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Discuss the role of low cellular metabolic function in muscular tension and dysfunction.
  • Assess client for contraindications of BMT.
  • Identify and treat trigger points which may contribute to nerve, muscle, and fascial system dysfunction.
  • Recognize and treat typical pain patterns in the body.
  • Demonstrate setup and use of the ABMMA PRO BMT device.
  • Be confident in the use of the ABMMA PRO BMT device to treat clients.
