BMT’s multiple benefits for neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s Disease
Bioelectric stimulation to the nervous system has been proven to be an effective option for restoring some degree of function in patients with neurological dysfunction, such as Parkinson’s. (Sahyouni et al, 2017)
The Bioelectric Meridian Therapy (BMT) device generates a small electrical current which is transferred into the body through the therapist’s hands. BMT uses the body’s natural bioelectricity to stimulate nerves and cells and increases Qi flow. BMT stimulates neuromuscular connection, promotes faster recovery and assists the body’s ability to self-heal.
The bioelectric device used in BMT generates low voltage electrical pulses of a specific amplitude and duration. The pattern of these pulses has been developed and refined to compliment the body’s natural electrical signal, making it an effective therapy.
Kaye’s journey with Bioelectric Meridian Therapy and Parkinson’s
My name is Kaye Owen & I am 64 years old. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2014 at age 56. Some of the main symptoms I experience are rigidity & stiffness in my joints, slowness of movement, constipation, sleep disturbance and Dystonia.
Dystonia is a tremor which occurs involuntarily. Dystonia in my legs & arms leads to restless legs (like ants crawling inside my legs) This usually occurs around 30 minutes after I take my medication. As well as the physical discomfort it causes, it also creates anxiety for me, especially if I am away from home, or in a social situation. The dystonia can last up to 60 minutes and is very distressing at times.
My Experience with Bioelectric Meridian Therapy
I first experienced Bioelectric Meridian Therapy on 30th August 2022. I felt relaxed after the 1 hour Therapeutic BMT massage, and my sleep was much improved that evening. It was also the first time I had been able to lie still on the massage table without my body going into spasm and tremor.
I started having fortnightly treatments ( generally 1.5 – 2 hour treatments ) at the end of September with Tracy. These treatments were more specific and targeting some of my Parkinson’s symptoms.
