What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)?
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is essentially a product of the modern fast-paced lifestyle. Often it emanates due to prolonged exertion or inadequate rest over a long period of time. Depression, viral infections and impairment of immune function often lead to the development of CFS. However, the problem is that a person with CFS does not feel any relief from the symptoms even after taking adequate rest. The problem persists for a long period of time, and western medical practice often fails to offer a viable solution.
Exact causes for CFS
Only recently it was believed that a there are a combination of factors that lead to the development of CFS. CFS primarily affects the autonomic nervous system, immune system, psychiatric system etc. It was believed that discordance in all the systems of the body brings about CFS.
However, if the discovery of a recent study is to be believed, then CFS has physiological origins that are linked to the calcium ion pathway. When calcium ion channels get blocked or impaired in a certain way, their receptivity by their target cells gets affected. These calcium ions are utilized by muscle cells for mobility. This is possibly the reason why there remains a physical discomfort and a sense of fatigue in the absence of adequate calcium ions.
The side effects of ignorance
Since most physiologists do not understand the origins of the disorder, they think it is laziness and lack of muscle activity that causes CFS. As a result of this misinformation, patients’ already calcium starved muscles begin aching even more. But now due to this research finding, by Professor Don Staines from Griffith University’s National Centre for Neuroimmunology and Emerging Diseases, there will surely be a breakthrough.
Alternative medications: A case for Bioelectric Meridian Massage Therapy (BMMT)
Bioelectric meridian massage therapy is renowned for providing physical relief in terms of cure where conventional western medical practice has failed so far. It does not involve the use of any drugs or any other medication; hence the possibilities of a side effect are practically reduced to zero. It employs use of technology with soothing massage techniques to deliver effective, long lasting results.
BMMT can achieve the following results:
- It stimulates the nervous system for better impulse conduction.
- It stimulates the lymphatic system which further drives away the dead white blood cells away from the bloodstream.
- It soothes stiffness and long term aching of muscles and joints.
BMMT advantages for CFS
BMMT employs the use of short electric impulses provided to discs or suction cups that are in turn attached to the patient’s body on the area concerned. The vibrations caused by these discs gently massage the area, thereby relaxing muscles in a way that regular human kneading and massaging cannot.
The electric impulses can be regulated via a computer generated feed, as per the treatment dosage and convenience levels of the patient. Thereby, all the accumulated stiffness due to calcium iron deficiency in the muscles gets immediately soothed. Results may take several appointments to manifest and is subject to the patient’s response to the treatment.
