BMT: A versatile solution for common injuries and sprain recovery

Runner clutching ankle after injury on roadside Description: Athlete in yellow running kit holds injured ankle; Bioelectric Meridian Therapy may aid recovery. Alt text: Man on road in pain grabbing sprained ankle, possible candidate for BMT healing techniques.

By Michael Rand,  personal trainer and triathlete.

In this blog post, I will share my experience of utilising the ABMMA BMT PRO Device as a versatile solution for rehabilitating common injuries and sprain recovery from workouts.

This versatile device aided in my ankle sprain, highlighting the benefits of ABMMA Bioelectric Meridian Therapy (BMT) in the healing process.

The fateful morning run

Let me share a memorable experience with you during an early morning run.

Setting off at 4am, the darkness added an extra challenge to my routine. As I needed to be at work by 6:30am, I embarked on a 14km run for 40 minutes at a tempo pace. The morning was off to a great start, my heart rate remained steady and my running pace was quite good.

As I made my way over a hill in Coolum Beach, disaster struck. There was a hidden crack in the pavement and I stumbled upon it, rolling my ankle and landing face down on the footpath.

The excruciating pain was immediate. I found myself lying, overwhelmed by the throbbing sensation in my ankle. To make matters worse, I was at the furthest point away from home at 5am in the morning . I had no phone and no one local nearby to give me a lift home. Somehow, I managed to hobble the 6kms home. In a lot of pain.

Despite the severe ankle sprain, the pain and initial despair, I was determined to find a solution.

Utilising the ABMMA PRO BMT Device for acute injury support

I wasted no time in seeking relief. I turned to the ABMMA BMT PRO Device to gently support the healing process. For the first few days I carefully placed ABMMA PRO pads on the medial and lateral epicondyles and used the frequencies to gently activate the muscles and tendons surrounding the joint.

Simultaneously, I engaged in gentle foot movements to minimise the formation of scar tissue and maintain a healthy range of motion.

Leveraging the ABMMA Gua Sha Electro-Blade for enhanced sprain recovery

During my sprain recovery weekend, I had three days of very little load bearing and up to four hours a day on the ABMMA PRO BMT Device. By the end of the weekend, my ankle had greatly improved and I was walking without a limp. I was able to do single-leg stands with a greatly reduced pain level.

By day four, I was riding my bike indoors. On day seven, I managed a 3km easy run. It didn’t hurt to run, but post run there was some renewed swelling and increased discomfort.

This was an opportunity to trial the new prototype ABMMA Gua Sha Electro-Blade.

This innovative tool, coupled with the ABMMA PRO BMT Device, allowed me to target specific treatment spots and focus on the affected ligaments to expedite my healing process and reduced discomfort.

I am a massive fan of the Gua Sha technique. Being able to use the ABMMA PRO together with the frequencies of the Electro-Blade has been a massive bonus in my rehab from this injury.

The other bonus of having the Electro-Blade is you can really pinpoint the treatment spots to target the affected ligaments that were damaged. I believe this tool has made the recovery process that much quicker and more effective.

Balance exercises to aid recovery

In addition to post-treatment with the ABMMA PRO BMT Device, I incorporated exercises using a balance board and challenged myself further by performing tasks, such as catching a ball while standing on the injured foot. These exercises aided in restoring stability and strength to the injured ankle.

Successful sprain recovery

Thanks to the comprehensive approach utilising the ABMMA PRO BMT Device and its accessory the ABMMA Gua Sha Electro-Blade, as well as supplementary exercises, I achieved a remarkable recovery within a short period.

Despite my age, the ABMMA Bioelectric Meridian Therapy techniques proved to be invaluable tools in my injury recovery journey. I have no doubt that this approach expedited the healing process, allowing me to return to my full running program pain-free.
